1.   Support the teaching of important general principles about key academic vocabulary words and how they relate to each other


2.  Foster Reading and Writing Skills within the classroom


3.  Provide reference support for students during their reading and writing


4.  Promote independence on the part of young students as they work with words and concepts in writing and reading
